BSPO COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
BRICKS – Full year: Coordinates the sale and installation of customized bricks for the school sidewalk.
BSPO DIRECTORY – August, September and then Full Year: Designs, compiles and organizes all pertinent school, BSPO, staff and student information into a school directory that is available to all Bannockburn families and staff.
FAMILY PHOTO DAY: Fall: Facilitates family photos by a professional photographer for the school community.
HOSPITALITY – Full Year: Facilitates the Beginning of the Year Luncheon, Spring Teacher Appreciation Luncheon and BSPO Final Meeting Luncheon/Breakfast. Includes caterer and menu selection, food and beverage set-up and clean-up.
HOT LUNCH – Full Year: Coordinates the ordering, delivery and service of lunches and the collection/reconciliation of payment. Works with web developers to enter the food items throughout the school year.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL – August: Coordinates the school-wide “Welcome Back to School” event, including ordering and serving of ice cream and the arrangement of entertainment (if requested).
Munchin’ in the Morning – January: Coordinates a fun morning with at parents at the school before the school day begins.
RESTAURANT NIGHTS/FUNDRAISING –All Year: Coordinates a dining event/other fundraiser in the community to help fund BSPO social events.
ROOM PARENT COORDINATOR & ROOM PARENTS – Full-Year: Secures volunteers to be the head and co-room parents each year. Distributes the annual allotment and reminds parents to return unused funds at the end of the year to the Treasurer. Also provides basic rules and training to room parents.
Head room parents act as the liaison between the teacher and parents for each classroom regarding volunteering. They organize three classroom parties per year – Halloween, Winter Holiday and Valentine’s Day (K-5 only), as well as other volunteer opportunities within the classroom. The head room parent may also coordinate teacher gifts.
SPIRIT WEAR – Full Year: Designs, markets and collects payment for school-branded clothing for the Bannockburn School families.
